Welcome to skillset4nursing.com. I am Jennifer (Jen), I’m very excited to have you here on my page, where I can share my journey with you about the world of nursing how I started and where I am at today.
Interestingly I was an accountant in the early stage of my career, then I realized accountant is not my passion. I did not know what I really like until I found out caring is my dominant nature. I love taking care of people around me and then I thought why I should not become a nurse so I can look after people with the bonus of having a career in hand. And yes, here I am as a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with 8 years of hands-on experience, I used to work in retirement villages and nursing homes when I was a nursing student. I am now as a senior RN, a resourceful person for junior staff and nursing student who are on their placement in our hospital.
Nursing has been my incredible career, filled with lessons learned not only taking care of patient, also delivering service to people while you are as a role of providing safe care and service for a private hospital. Introducing Skillset for Nursing – my brand aimed at nurturing the next generation of nurses for the efficiency and professionalism.

Whether you seek fundamental clinical nursing skills, basic nursing care, bedside manners, the art of communication to professional resources and development in order to deliver a high-level standard of care competently and professionally.
My Philosophy on Nursing Education
Becoming a confident RN as today I used to be a novice student who was totally blank mind when stepped into my nursing career, I understand how difficult but essential to deliver a safe and high standard of care for my patients or clients. That’s why my commitment is to guiding beginners as you to become confident and competent nurses.
I am going to tell you how I blend expertise and compassion to mentor New Grad Nursing Staff and students. When I was on my placements, I was grateful for having both serious and relaxed facilitators, I learned the positive side of either facilitators, I needed to believe in myself that I can do it and do it excellently when came across the strict advice and felt thankful for getting encouragement as “you definitely will become a great nurse in the future”. That was a simple but powerful sentence where I can see myself today. Furthermore, becoming familiar yourself with new environment where practical skills is taking place is even more challenging if you don’t have helpful and supportive mentors.
Fundamental nursing skills are essential for all beginners, but lack of advanced techniques would also lead to failure at times with the involving of technologies. This explains why I focus on both foundational nursing skills and advanced techniques.
I can’t impress enough the importance of personalized, hands-on experience for nursing students while they are all their placements as the old says “practice makes perfect.” To becoming a nurse is all about common senses, and yes, I will walk you through them when we go more into my website contents.
A Glimpse into My World Beyond the Hospital

Add on a bonus, outside the hospital environment, I have a satisfied and grateful life in Australia with my partner and our energetic puppy, Jack who is so humanized. As a nurse, practicing patience is not only help to balancing my life as a mentor, nurse, partner, and a pet parent but also feeling appreciation for a healthy life.
Reading either physical books or listening to audio books in variety of topics is my hobby. Keeping myself fit by going to the gym, walking Jack and eating healthy diet when I’m not wearing scrubs are all my interests.
More than anyone else, having a healthy body and mind makes me feel more appreciated my current life and I believe everyone deserves a healthy and happy life. For that reason, I feel so excited to share with you my professional approach to nursing and mentoring to help you to consolidate your nursing skills and reach your goal at a high-level standard of nursing as you desire.
